Job Description

Job Title: Field Service Technician Location: Norwich Salary: £23,000-£25,000 Plus once trained additional 10 % on salary overseas

Field Service Technician (Ideally, served a recognised apprenticeship in an engineering discipline)

The role holder will be required to Service, Repair and Install the full range of equipment in the field and in the workshop. They will be required to work on their own initiative for fault finding on equipment but also rigorously follow the Service Schedule. This role involves a high proportion of travel within the UK and World Wide sometimes at very short notice.

This role is customer facing and the role holder will need to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and integrity in front of the customer. The Role holder will also be required to provide training, instruction, and nurturing to Customer Staff

The Role:
Based in the Norwich Factory High level Travel within England, Europe and ROW Service, Maintain and install our range of labelling and firmness testing equipment Provide full product support including Customer training and instruction. Customer Facing: this role requires diplomacy and courtesy

Experience: Served a recognised apprenticeship in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering discipline. Minimum 5 years post apprenticeship experience in maintaining and servicing in light weight engineering/ packaging equipment.

Skills: High level of understanding of equipment/component function Reasoned Problem solving working on own initiative. Interpersonal skills, Ability to interact with Customers Ability to read engineering drawings Ability to read and understand technical documentation.

Personality:

This is a very time demanding role, and can involve working in environments and with cultures that are not under the control of my client The role requires tolerance and patience and a high degree of selflessness. Self commitment to get the job done to high standard in a reasonable time is required. Ie Pride in their work.

Pre-requisites: Full UK driving licence Ability to drive on continent No restrictions on World wide travel.

Shortlisting criteria at recruitment:

  • €¢ Ideally, served a recognised apprenticeship in an engineering discipline

  • €¢ HNC or similar in Mechanical /Electrical engineering

  • €¢ Numeracy and literacy skills demonstrated by GCSE or equivalent English and Mathematics or comparable practical experience

  • €¢ Effective communication skills

  • €¢ Customer service background

  • €¢ Full UK Driving licence, no travel restrictions
