| A very experienced senior Engineering Manager required by one of Norfolk’s biggest FMCG manufacturing facilities. As Engineering Manager the successful candidate will effectively manage the site engineering operation for production, technical, site facilities and distribution centre at the South Norfolk site. The role also calls for the management of Capital investment projects as well as assuming accountability for integrity and maintenance of the buildings, grounds, site services (utilities, fire protection, boilers/HVAC, fluid systems, HV & LV installations and compressed air) and production line equipment. The Engineering Manager will also be expected to collate Maintenance Management Information including downtime analysis, overtime analysis and other costs associated with the total site maintenance activity. Use this information to propose and support plant improvement projects. Manage the sites capital budgets and associated administration. Manage all capital projects and deliver them on time, within budget and safely. Assume responsibility for all aspects of H & S within engineering and assist other operations managers in H & S objectives. Ensure that the site conforms to all aspects of legislation associated with the engineering / maintenance function. Provide ongoing maintenance development plans, considering best practice, to meet the company’s drive towards higher plant operational efficiencies. Directly manage fifteen engineering staff ensuring that manpower is correctly allocated in accordance with priorities. The role is autonomous in that the job holder is responsible for the day to day management of the engineering function and works largely unsupervised. The Capital plant available is valued at £7.5M and there is a £400,000 pa maintenance budget To be considered for interview you will have up to degree standard in an engineering discipline and be capable of demonstrating sound project management ability and problem solving and engineering skills at the appropriate level. A qualification in at least one engineering discipline (electrical or mechanical) with a sound working knowledge of the other. Mechanical qualification is preferred. You will also need a minimum five years project management experience of projects up to £2m plus five years maintenance engineering in a high volume, complex FMCG production environment, including at least two years people management experience, preferably in a unionised environment. This is a big role and consequently carries an attractive package which includes a base salary of around £40,000 per annum plus a car and other benefits. |
