Construction Operations Manager required in South Norfolk to be responsible for the completion of works to cost and programme targets whilst ensuring that the projects are constructed to specified technical and quality requirements along with ensuring the company polices and procedures are adhered to. The role reports directly to the Managing Director and encompasses the need to ensure through on-site supervision that the construction works are undertaken to required designs, specifications, standards and HSE requirements. Monitor project cost and provide project Manager with timely identification of deviations from budget. Monitor site progress against accepted programmes and make recommendations where extra resource or alternative work processes are required to maintain or increase performance. Ensure maintenance of daily records of all site activities, including information on labour and plant. Manage and motivate a team of personnel which include Project Manager/Supervisors and Site Operatives/Labourers. Ensure that quantities of work items are agreed with the contractor prior to completion. Work with the Senior Management team in the preparation and management of the departments budgets. Develop excellent working relationships with key clients to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Establish procedures for maintaining high standards in the department for example the finished product on site, reliability and safety. Monitor measure and report on operational issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales.
Responsible for management of site team including personnel matters, staff training and development. Liaise with Management where appropriate.
To be considered for this demanding role you will need 5 years experience in managing and delivering various projects to budget and time deadlines. Experience in dealing with large corporate clients. The ability to manage multiple contracts at any one time and to have worked off schedule of rates. You will need strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to be proactive. On a qualification level you will need SMSTS qualification as well as a CSCS Site Management Card and an HNC in Construction or Civil Engineering.
